TMEA Home Membership Membership Benefits
Membership Benefits E-mail

In addition to the inherent benefits of belonging to an association of more than 10,000 Texas music educators, TMEA offers its members a myriad of tangible benefits to support them in their important work as music educators.

Publications

The official magazine of TMEA, Southwestern Musician, is published monthly August through May (no March issue) and sent to each member. A President's Newsletter is published each June when necessary to provide an update on TMEA activities. PDF versions of previous issues' articles are available in the magazine section of the website.

Directory

An online directory of all participating members provides contact information as well as membership and convention registration status. Member contact information can be obtained from the Purchase Member Data page.

Clinic Recordings and Handouts

TMEA records clinic sessions and the speakers at the general sessions. These audio files and session handouts are available through the TMEA website for one year following the convention to registered convention attendees who paid the additional $10 for the service (payable at time of registration for the convention).

Job Vacancy and Online Résumé Service

Texas school administrators may post music education vacancies and search the Online Résumé database. The Job Vacancy database is available for those seeking employment, as well as a venue to post résumés.  For more information, contact Andrew Denman.

Music Education Resource Network

In collaboration with TMEA, the Music Education Resource Network (MERN) is a proactive mentoring network of TMEA and The Foundation for Music Education. MERN links successful music education professionals (advisors) with new Texas music educators (protégés) and offers a proactive program of one-on-one mentoring to each new music teacher for a minimum of one year.
