Over 11,000 music educators throughout Texas are TMEA members. Any person who teaches music or is simply interested in supporting the purposes of TMEA may become a member. Membership offers a variety of benefits, including access to group health insurance, low-cost liability insurance, professional development opportunities, online and printed pedagogical and advocacy resources, and representation by TMEA leaders before our state’s decision makers, including the State Legislature, State Board of Education, and more. Membership Dues: Active: $50 Retired: $20 College Students: $20 Institutional: $55 (institutional membership form) Sustaining: $75 (sustaining membership form)
There are five categories of membership. Ensure when you join or renew that your membership type is appropriate for your status either as a student or music teacher.
Don’t live in Texas? You can still support our organization by becoming an active member. However, to attend the TMEA Clinic/Convention, out-of-state attendees are required only to pre-register.
